Knight for a rook?
McNamara on playing dice or chess with nuclear war. At one point in an interview with Fidel Castro, McNamara said that if Castro had launched missiles against Washington, the US would have blasted Cuba off the face of the earth. McNamara looked at Fidel as if Fidel had lost his mind. But who is mad here?
At the end of this exchange Washington DC would be completely destroyed as would be Cuba. From an American perspective there has been an exchange of Washington DC for Cuba. Does no one play chess in the US elite anymore? Would anyone think this is a sensible move for the US ?
